It is hard to believe that we have completed one month of school already. September will be busy and short , since we have Fall Break at the end of the month. This month, we will be working on:
Reading: Recounting stories ( beginning, middle and end) and what is the central message, lesson or moral of the story. We will be learning about how to find information in our reading text.
Math: We are still working on place value ( using and drawing base ten blocks) to show how to write numbers in expanded form ( 100 + 20+ 3= 123), written form ( one hundred twenty-three), place value ( 1-H, 2- T, 3 -O). We will also be working on word problems with addition and subtraction up to sums of 20.
Writing: We are still working on writing personal narratives ( stories about small moments in one's life). We are learning about having a good lead to our beginning, details and editing our work.
Content: We are finishing up Science ( seasons, Properties of Matter) this week and will be moving into Social Studies. We will be learning about the 5 regions of Georgia, the rivers and Creek and Cherokee Indians.
