Welcome March!
This month we will be working hard as we finish up Quarter 3 and start Quarter 4.. In Reading, we will be working on compare and contrast of two similar stories (example- different versions of Cinderella). We will review asking and answering questions when reading stories(fictional and information. In Math, we are continuing to work on money ( adding with quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies) and understanding them in word problems. We continue to work on our math facts and reading and writing numbers to 1,000 using base ten numerals. We will also review comparing numbers. In Language, we are learning about Shades of meaning. This is how different words can mean the same thing but some words are weak and some are strong. We will review capitalizing of proper nouns, spelling patterns ( -oi, -oy) and commas in greetings and closing of letters. In Writing, we are still working on opinion writing and later this month return to personal narrative. In Science, we are reviewing the 4 seasons. In Social Studies, we are finishing up learning about Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King, Jr and Juliette Gordon Low and their influence in Georgia's history and the importance in the world. Important events happening this month: Thursday, March 8- International Night @6:30 Monday, March 12- RI testing Wednesday, March 14- Early Release at 12:30, end of 3rd 9 weeks Friday,March 16- MI testing Monday, March 12- Friday, March 16: Book Fair Tuesday, March 20- Wild Night @6:00 (more information to come) April 2-6- Spring Break, No School Wednesday, March 21- Report Cards go home |
