Hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Christmas break! It is hard to believe that we are half way through the school year.
There is alot going on this month:
Math: NBT 1 & 3 - place value, NBT. 4- comparing numbers (greater than, less than and equal to, NBT.8- add and subtract 10/100 to 100-900, NBT.7- add and subtract within 1,000.
Reading: RL.1- Asking and answering questions (5 W's and How),RL.2- recounting fables and stories and tell what the moral is.
Language: Use commas in greetings and closing of letters, capitalize proper nouns, using
adjectives and adverbs.
Writing- opinion writing
Health- Dental Health
Social Studies: Martin Luther King, Jr, Jackie Robinson
Science: Shadows/ length of the day

Homework:
Homework has change. Make sure your child is reading their leveled book each night and please initial it. There is still the weekly packet with the spelling words and practice math pages. Students are to fill out the graphic organizer (fiction or non-fiction) for their level book each week and complete the comprehension quiz on the book.
